Cleansing, uplifting. One of the most useful household oils. Powerful antiseptic. Great in first aid kits. Can be safely applied neat on the skin in minute areas. Strong antiviral and anti-fungal properties. Invaluable for treating minor wounds, infections, cuts, stings, and acne.


Description– Fresh, spicy, camphor odour.

How to – To help alleviate cold, flu sinus and chest infections, add 2 drops of Tea Tree essential oil to a bowl of steaming water. Cover your head and inhale deeply the vapour for 5 – 10 mins.

Origin and main producers– native to Australia.

Plant part used in extraction– leaves and twigs

Caution – may irritate sensitive skin. While it may be applied to individual spots or boils, it should never be applied to larger areas of the skin.

Aromatic lore – Used extensively by Aborigines and early Australian settlers, it was considered a “cure all”. The oil reputedly neutralises the deadly venom of the funnel web spider.
