According to a Norwegian smell researcher, Sissel Tolaas, smells are used constantly to communicate among plants, animals and human beings. They are a crucial component in our world as we understand it. Every day we breathe 23,00 times, and with every breath, smell molecules flood through our body. Funnily enough, even when we sleep, we smell. She acknowledges too that all of us are born with a unique body smell as unique as our fingerprint.
Upon asked what her favourite smells were, she replied simply, “Every breath I take.”
